DIY Vintage Flags & Bunting

Well flip us over and spin us around, because we’re discovered the cutest DIY flags and bunting wedding ideas ever, over at The Sweetest Occasion.

You’ll need contact paper {either vintage or vintage looking}, scissors, lollipop sticks {or toothpicks}, and string.

How to make the Flags

Cut a strip off the contact paper roll about 12 cm long and 1.5 cm wide.

Remove contact paper backing, center the stick {or toothpick}, and fold the contact paper around it. Try to line up the edges, then cut a little notch out of the end to make it look like a flag.

We can think of so many cute ways to use these flags… stick them in your wedding cupcakes, put a few together as wedding favors, or even have them displayed on your wedding tables as fancy vintage toothpicks.

How to make the Bunting

Cut a strip off the contact paper roll about 10 cm long and 3 cm wide and fold in half.

Remove contact paper backing, center string on fold line, and fold contact paper around it. Trim a little notch to make it look like a flag. Repeat down the length of the string, spacing equally apart.

This would look adorable hanging on the back of the bride and grooms chairs or if used on the wedding cake.
