Retro Soda Bar

Are you looking to add a little retro style or vintage feel to your wedding? If so, you need to check out this unique and tasteful DIY old fashioned soda bar wedding idea previously featured at Project Wedding.

We suggest arranging your colourful soda bottles by flavour or colours and sourcing them from gourmet delicatessens. Alternatively, you can always go for new sodas and use a company like Jones Soda.

We love that by adding a soda bar to your event, you will also add instant pop to your wedding day decor. Plus, it’s such a neat idea, which provides a different and unique alternative to the popular “candy bar” and also doubles as a colorful way to provide fun and fizzy non-alcoholic beverages to your guests.

Easy Peasy DIY String Spheres

Now here’s a wedding reception idea worth trying out, chic DIY string spheres.

Joyful Weddings and Events developed this gorgeous idea after taking part in a DIY design challenge where the guidelines were to create a modern table-scape that focused on something besides flowers. These string spheres look so fancy it’s hard to believe they’re DIY’ed and only cost pennies to create.

To recreate this, blow up a balloon, dip string into a glue mixture, wind the string around the balloon, pop the balloon and voila you’ll have some instant beauty. For those of you who are visual learners, check out Wednesday Custom Designs for a step by step tutorial.

Another fabulous trick is to customize this idea by adding food coloring or dye to the glue mixture. You can hang these string spheres as chandeliers, fill a glass vase with them on your table, or tie them to the ceremony chairs – the possibilities are simply endless.

Fruity Wedding

Set your wedding apart by taking advantage of seasonal fruits and having a fruit themed wedding. We love this wedding idea because it’s colorful, fresh and original.

Think Strawberries

Pair a luscious strawberry red with anything from a light cream to a dark chocolate brown and your guests will be pleasantly surprised with the sweet color combination.

Think Peaches and Cream

Any combination of peach helps create a rustic and romantic setting – perfect for a vintage or garden themed summer wedding.

Think Pineapples

The pineapple sets a welcoming and regal stage. Even if your wedding day is not being held a la destination, you can easily create a whimsical island oasis right in your own backyard.

Think Blueberries

A rich hue of blueberry creates an elegant and modern atmosphere. Our favorite aspect of using a blueberry tone is that it can virtually be paired with any color for a perfect look.
