La Punta Norte Wedding {Alexandra + Brodie} 18.05.2012

This wedding is plain beautiful!

Alexandra and Brodie wed at La Punta Norte in Summerland, British Columbia, Canada. The breathtaking venue is a Mexican bed and breakfast that overlooks Okanagan Lake. To complement the scenery the couple chose a cheery green, white and brown colour palette.

The bride put together most of the details herself, from the wedding favors to the décor and we’re seriously impressed given that the couple have two little boys at home.

Alexandra and Brodie have been together since Alexandra was 15 years old and they have two gorgeous little boys who were pulled down the aisle in a wagon with a sign reading ‘Here Comes Mommy’.

Justine Russo Photography captured the wedding pictures and commented, “Even though the wedding was local, it felt like we had stepped into another country entirely. The backdrop of the lake was stunning, and the whole feel of the B&B was a Mexican resort.”

Congratulations Alexandra and Brodie.

Estate of John’s Lake Bridal Shoot 14.05.2012

We love unexpected details, so we can’t help but love this bridal shoot photographed by Victoria Angela Photography in Clermont, Florida, United States.

The shoot took place at Estate of John’s Lake, which is an Estate build in 1928. The stunning location features 18 lush acres, a 6000 sq ft. home with carriage house, gazebo and all the luxuries one could imagine.

We’re incredibly smitten with all the different wedding table setups, the over-the-top wedding cakes, all the pretty bouquets and the charming venue.

Heights Theatre and Art Gallery Wedding {Brittany + Casey} 11.05.2012

Three cheers for this lovely DIY wedding!

Brittany and Casey wed at Heights Theatre and Art Gallery in Houston, Texas, United States. “We love seeing great movies together and loved the idea of getting married in a movie theatre. It had a great feel with the artwork and it was located in the Heights where we first moved in together,” says Brittany.

The couple chose to have a DIY wedding with a movie theme and blue and red details. Brittany explains, “We tried to play off the movie theme with the decorations and made this into a total DIY wedding. I bought and made my own flower jars for the tables. I made my bridal bouquet when I had found I couldn’t get the peonies I had ordered in time. On Etsy people sell bouquets made out of antique brooches. I decided to make one by going to forever 21 and buying bracelets and taking them apart, rings, pins, etc.”

But the biggest and absolute cutest DIY project the bride undertook was to fold thousands of paper cranes. She explains, “I folded a thousand paper cranes for our ceremony backdrop. I had heard of the idea before and absolutely fell in love with it. I bought a huge stack of 12″ by 12″ paper from Michael’s and cut each page into four 6″ by 6″ squares and folded each into a crane, and then strung them together using beads, fishing string and a needle. It took several months! My awesome friends hung them on the alter before the wedding.”

“I also found a cute fingerprint guestbook on Etsy and decided to make my own with a movie theme, I decided to go with the Up Movie house with the fingers being the balloons. I bought a frame at Michael’s and I drew the house myself on paper with fine tip markers and got finger paint and picture holder stands from Michael’s.” Brittany adds, “The art inside this place was incredible and was a total compliment to our theme and creative personalities.”
