Laura and Dylan’s Sydney Secret Garden Wedding 20.10.2014

What happens when an Interior Designer/Freelance Stylist starts planning her own wedding? A really unique and gorgeous wedding, that’s what!

Laura and Dylan tied the knot in one of Sydney’s most exquisite churches, St Mary’s Cathedral.

Their wedding theme was, “A Midsummer Nights Dream set within The Secret Garden,” says Laura. Their intimate reception was held in absolute seclusion out on Scotland Island at Bangalla. Guests arrived by boat and climbed the sandstone stairs to a magical garden full of fairy lights.

Hilary Cam Photography Sydney captured the wedding and recalls, “Their reception was dreamy and romantic with some modern and bold twists reflecting their creativity and individuality. Their reception was ethereal with woodland tablescapes with moss, scattered tea lights, mason jars and flowers.”

Laura handmade lots the wedding details with the assistance of Dylan and her father. Laura tells us, “I handmade all the little details. From our wedding invitations to the poles that held up the festoon lights that hung above the tables. My favourite DIY project was my personalized sign for Dylan that hung in the tree in front of us, [it read] ‘Every love story is beautiful but ours is my favourite’.”

Laura goes on to say, “[The] Bridal headpiece was [also] handmade, [as well as the] cake toppers and personalised water bottles.”

More from the bride:

What was your favourite moment of the day?

“A moment I will never forget was arriving to Bangalla by boat, climbing the 50 sandstone steps to enter the incredible garden where I saw that my whole vision had come to life. After months of planning and facing all the logistical challenges, such as bringing everything across to the island on a barge just the day prior, it was such a rewarding feeling to walk in and see all our guests (especially our international guests) mingling, drinking champagne, enjoying the music and absorbing the energy of the surroundings. To add to this euphoric feeling, it was my wedding day, so this was truly a very memorable moment.”

Congratulations to the lovely couple and thank you for sharing your wedding pictures and story with One Stylish Bride.

Pop Art Wedding 06.10.2014

The vendors that put together this lovely Pop Art styled shoot aren’t afraid of a little colour. Okay, a lot of colour!

The shoot took place at the Jupiter Hotel, a boutique hotel in the heart of Portland, Oregon.

Christa-Taylor captured the shoot and tells us, “It all started when Lacy of Form & Flora contacted me about this pop art wedding concept, and I immediately jumped on board. Yes, let’s give brides a fresh perspective on what a wedding could look like. Rustic is getting tired and we need a fresh vision. We found inspiration in 1920s Pop Art, bold colours, geometric patterns and vibrant paint hues. We fought to keep it clean and modern yet still romantic and relatable.”

She goes on to say, “The table for six was set with stainless mod steel chairs and hand-dipped plate ware that was re-purposed from local consignment shops and thrift stores. The flatware took an instant upgrade when dipped white and arranged over the geometric napkins complete with truffle favors from designer Dot Shoppe. The menu and invites were many hued, but very clean thanks to Nimbi’s design skills. After capturing the dinner table and toast we moved into the dessert spread complete with Portland’s most iconic donut confections – Voodoo Donut. The rainbow cake was designed and baked by Lacy’s chef husband, just for this shoot. We completed the event on Burnside Street dressed in the Ania Collection dress, and playing with a colourful array of balloons.”

Some of our favourite standout details from this shoot are the Voodoo Donuts, the rainbow wedding cake, the bright flowers, the paint bucket flower vases and the customized soda bottles.

Clare and Bryce’s Bare Knuckle Farm Wedding 29.09.2014

Surely this super sweet wedding will make your day.

Clare and Bryce live in New York, but got engaged on North Manitou Island so they knew they wanted to return to Northern Michigan for a Northport wedding.

They decided to wed and hold their reception at the charming Bare Knuckle Farm in Northport.

Dan and Melissa Photography captured their wedding and tell us, “My oh my, this wedding was amazing. Meet the incredibly sweet, lovely, beautiful couple, Bryce and Clare. They were truly meant for each other and madly in love. Adoration was written all over their faces and you could see they adored their family and friends as well. This entire group had an enormous bond of love.

The weather was just right and the happy couple enjoyed every second of their wedding surrounded by those they care so deeply for. Clare said they ‘love to dance party’ and she was right. I don’t think we have ever seen anyone enjoy a dance party more than these people [and] it was fantastic to watch. You couldn’t help but want to join in the fun. We had a blast getting to know Bryce and Clare.”
