Something Kinda Cute 01.12.2014

Shell and Craig Lewis have a thing for wedding stationary, especially vintage and super cute wedding stationary.

Shell started out designing vintage and quirky wedding invites and event stationery for friends and family as a bit of a hobby and then realized that designing wedding stationery was something she really loved. Her realization is what led to the birth of Something Kinda Cute.

Something Kinda Cute currently has an adorable Off The Peg collection, which can be customised with your choice of colours and wording. What’s more, all of the Off The Peg themes can be applied to any wedding stationary you require – think favour tags, table numbers, thank you cards.

Fun Wedding Envelopes 15.11.2012

We love surprises, especially when they’re pretty and fun, like average envelopes with above average lining.

We think lined envelopes would definitely be perfect for transporting the all-important wedding invitations because it’s a sure fire way to make a big impression. You simply slide pre-cut liners into matching envelopes and adhere with a little adhesive. It’s a fact – embellished envelope liners are genius.

Personalised Wedding Invitations 31.07.2012

We’re always harping on about the importance of personalising your wedding, so today we’ve decided to talk about how to personalise and print your own wedding invitations.

wedding-invitations

We know it’s easy to get overwhelmed thinking about all the things you’re yet to organise for your wedding, but one thing that’s relatively easy to sort out is the wedding invitations. Some couples handcraft their invitations for a beautiful and authentic feel, but if you’re time poor, printing your invitations is a great, low-cost way to make personalised, unique and stunning wedding invitations.

We’re especially smitten with Vistaprint, as you can choose from a variety of templates on their website to base your design on. Of course your invitation style depends on your wedding style; is your wedding formal, religious or casual? Incorporate this into your design so that your guests will know what to expect. Printing your own wedding invitations gives a personal touch, and you have the control over the fonts, colours and images. When you’re selecting the paper, experiment with difference textures and thicknesses. Also, if you’re having your wedding at a well-known destination, include some images of the location in your sets.

When it comes to selecting a printing method, foil stamping, letter press, engraving, embossing and lithography are a few popular ways to have your invitations printed. You’ll also have to choose the paper: textured paper and envelopes are becoming quite a great way to showcase your wedding invitations. At the end of the day, remember that whatever the printing method you use, your invitations will look professional when printed by a reputable company.

When choosing your invitation colour scheme, remember that maintaining a consistent colour scheme is important. Choose colours and fonts that represent your personality and your wedding style. If you are having a traditional white wedding; silver, gold black and spiral designs work well. If your wedding is religious, incorporate religious symbols and images into your wedding invitations and use colours which are appropriate. A casual beach or garden wedding can experiment with flushes of pink and yellow, soft typeface, and pictures of seashells or flowers. If you want to further personalise your invitations, consider adding a second layer to your set.

If you’re not quite so crafty, the best option for designing your wedding invitations is to choose a template (or make your own) and have them printed when you’re done.

Oh how beautiful personalised invitations can be!
