vintage wedding

Va-Va-Vintage

We love some good old vintage wedding inspiration, so today we’ve put together a vintage inspiration board.

If you’re also smitten kitten with the vintage wedding theme and thinking of using it, first things first, decide what vintage means to you? Does it mean the 1940s and make you think of corsets and Frank Sinatra or does it make you think of pearls and long fitted satin dresses.

Once you’ve decided on your era, you can then get to recreating it. If you don’t want to go with just one era, you can always opt for a general vintage theme.

The best part about the vintage wedding theme is that you can find wedding inspiration is so many different types of items, from old tins to vintage scales to typewriters. What’s old becomes new again with this theme.

Vintage Garden Wedding {Isabela + Matt}

These wedding pictures are ‘magic garden’ wonderful! Thank you so much Light Love Laughter Photography for sharing them with us.

The Story: Once upon a time, Isabela and Matt met at a local Latin Restaurant, several years later they got married in a ‘magic garden’ wedding. People came from afar {Brazil to be exact}, to see the ‘magic garden’ wedding. It was spectacular and Isabela looked like an angel in a beautiful wedding dress from Wedding Angels.

The Details: Matt and Isabela decided on a garden themed wedding with vintage touches. They found the perfect venue at Four Oaks Manor in Buford {Georgia, United States}, with the most glorious garden for the wedding. They incorporated the vintage touches with vintage glass jars and vases picked from antique stores. The pretty floral arrangements were purchased from the local farmers market and put together by Isabela and her helpful friends.

Congratulations Isabela and Matt and here’s to a fairytale ending!

Real Wedding {Alison + Kirk}

Wedding pictures of Alison + Kirk…

I’m super excited about today’s real wedding, which was photographed by Carina and Amanda or Love Me Do Photography. This wedding is truly unique and wonderful, all mixed into one. I specifically love the choice of venue, the German Society of Philadelphia. The venue has so much character from an amazing library and hardwood floors to gorgeous statues and oil paintings. What an amazing location for a wedding!

The amazing flowers are from Nature’s Gallery Florist, who have loads of organic, locally sourced and seasonal flowers. The brides bouquet is just breathtaking.

Alison wore a stunning vintage inspired wedding gown, which was made by her designer friend Anna McCraney {what a lucky bride}. The dress was inspired by a vintage Ossie Clark dress that Alison saw a celebrity wear to a premiere. The bride commented I really just wanted something with a vintage feel.”

The couple were lucky enough to have an awesome DJ friend, Brian Curtis, that stepped into the role of wedding DJ. Alison commented He was the only person I could have ever wanted to DJ our wedding, because his taste is so good and he is very effective at starting a party. I flew him out from California just to do it (thankfully, he only wanted the plane ticket as payment!).”
