We’re decided to cover our favourites from the New York Bridal Week Spring 2012, now that bridal week fever has simmered down. We now have a much clearer idea as to what the new trends are for next year.
We loved so many of the innovative collections presented during the week, but below are the favourites. We love these wedding dresses because of the trend towards beautiful textures, amazing colours, and bling.
First up, our favourites from Reem Acra. Her wedding dress collection was princess inspired and accessorized perfectly with sparkly tiaras and gorgeous red accents. Reem Acra has officially made us even more giddy about the upcoming royal wedding!
Next up, Oscar de la Renta decorated his graceful wedding dresses with rose petals and ruched-bodice detailing. His wedding dresses are the perfect fit for the chic bride.
Meanwhile, Vera Wang injected some much needed colour into the bridal week. She also incorporated some playful pleats, dramatic tulle bows, and stunning leaf details. We love that her designs were modern with an edgy vibe.
Marchesa, on the other hand went for a chic all-white theme with dramatic bling details.
Carolina Herrera created wedding dresses perfect for the minimal sophisticated bride, with simple lines and luxurious fabrics. We adore the understated elegance of her designs.
Monique Lhuillier’s collection included lots of ultra feminine designs with loads of corsets, slim line designs, fishtail gowns and grecian style gowns. We love that this collection came in different shades, from iceberg white to pretty latte crème. It’s no wonder why Reese Witherspoon choose this designer for her recent wedding…the designs are simply gorgeous.
Kenneth Pool included breathtaking voluminous multi-layered tulle ball gowns, which were accented with beaded belts. We love the enchanting vibe of this collection.
The New York Bridal Week Spring 2012 definitely put a smile on our faces, as the designers delivered an abundance of stunning and super wearable styles. Although these wedding dresses won’t be available for months to come {and some not in Australia at all} we’re still pretty excited about seeing real brides wearing these breathtaking wedding dresses or wedding dresses inspired by these designs.
