We adore the understated elegance of homemade wedding cakes, so when one of our readers sent through her homemade cake, we had to share it.
Kathryn used a melt and mix white chocolate cake recipe from her favorite Donna Hay cookbook – Modern Classics Book 2. Kathryn explained, “I made 4 cakes, 2 large 30cm round and 2 small 15cm round. I put round cake boards and wooden rodes in between the layers so it wouldn’t collapse. I bought these from a cake decorating supplier. I then iced it with a white chocolate ganache because it is easy to work with and delicious. Then I decorated with fresh flowers.”
Thank you for sharing Kathryn. This DIY cake is really too exquisite. Double thumbs up.
