Picnic Engagement {Chantelle + Nick} 15.05.2012

We just love Chantelle and Nick’s engagement photos and engagement story. Plus, this gorgeous bride-to-be remains us of singer Lana Del Rey, which we love.

Chantelle and Nick have been dating since high school in 2001. Chantelle recalls, “he asked me out before the final bell when I was in year 10. We have been through a lot together, he’s my best friend, but we wanted to wait until we were
 both ready for this commitment.”

Nick proposed right before their 10-year anniversary. Chantelle explains, “We agreed to meet for lunch at my place, but at the last minute he changed and said he had organised a picnic with our puppy Bailey at a park near his house. Knowing that I would never say no to a picnic, I agreed to change plans and met him there. Unfortunately someone had parked me in and I was over an hour and a half late.”

When Chantelle arrived at Nicks house she found that “he had moved all the furniture in his living area and lit dozens of tea light candles a few hours earlier, scattered rose petals and a had a big bouquet of flowers waiting for me. When I entered the house He guided me in closed eyes, but I actually opened them too soon and saw ‘will you marry me?’ spelt out with the candles before he could get down on one knee. I was already in tears and said ‘yes’.”

Despite being late, Chantelle still got her romantic picnic. “As promised, I got my picnic – on the floor of the living room with a stunning yellow diamond engagement ring! Hand made by a jeweller friend using some of his late grandmothers gold melted to form the band. It was so special and so perfect,” says Chantelle.

Fun Fair Engagement {Beckie + Mike} 23.04.2012

These engagement photos are splashed with a rainbow of hues and were taken at the Orangeville Ontario Fall Fair.

Beckie and Mike chose the fair location because they love Fall fairs. So much so, that it’s an annual tradition for this fun couple to attend them.

Purple Martini Wedding & Event Photography captured the engagement session and shared with us a little about the couple and shoot, “They were fantastic to photograph and even brought balloons and sparkly red Wizard of Oz shoes. We had a great time capturing them playing games, going on the rides, eating cotton candy, enjoying the fair and just plain ol’ being in love. They were up for everything and it was so easy capturing their personalities and their love for one another. They were absolute naturals in front of the camera.”

Washington Engagement {Jo + Bobby} 04.04.2012

Jo and Bobby’s Washington engagement session is all about hugs, kisses and holding hands.

The affectionate couple met at work. Bobby explains, “Jo and I actually met 6 years ago when we both worked at the Best Western Lakeway Inn – Jo in the Sales & Marketing Office, and I at the front desk.

We worked together for about 6 months (thinking she was cute I tended to pop into the sales office quite often) before Jo took her job at Whatcom Community College. About 2 years later, I got a job at WCC in the HR department and we re-connected. Quickly we became friends again and would hang out often. Eventually I took her out on our first date to The Lion King in Seattle. We’ve been together for almost 3 years now.”

The proposal took place at Biltmore, which was Jo’s dream proposal location. Jo recalls, “Without my knowledge, Bobby had been planning the proposal for months! Ever since we booked our flights to North Carolina, I kept mentioning going to Biltmore, he decided that’s where he was going to propose. We spent the day taking a tour of the house, shopping, and walking the grounds with my parents before the candlelight tour in the evening.

That evening, we went through the mansion when all of the Christmas trees and fireplaces were lit, Christmas decorations were up, and carolers sang in the greenhouse atrium. Afterward, my parents took the shuttle back to the car and we took another walk around the lawn under the amazing 60-foot Christmas tree. I kept trying to move Bobby along because I wanted pictures of the tree with the house at the end of the lawn, but he took his sweet time looking at the lights and the trees (he told me later he was waiting for a family to leave). I was giving him a little bit of a hard time when he hugged me and dropped to one knee. He didn’t know it, but I had told my girlfriends if I had a dream spot for him to propose, it would be at Biltmore.”
