Sorrento Wedding {Meg + Leighton}

We’re over the moon and tickled pink to share this stunning Victoria wedding captured by Sorrento Wedding Photography.

Meg and Leighton wed on the Helipad in Sorrento and held their reception at the Baths also in Sorrento Victoria. “We were the first couple to ever use the Helipad at Sorrento, so we had to organize that. Thanks to the Search and Rescue team for allowing us access” says Meg.

The stunning bride wore a “Gwendolynne Burkin ‘Vanessa’ dress and cocktail veil custom made by Richard Nylon.”

Meg recalls “It poured with rain during our vows! Fortunately we had hired umbrellas (for shade from the sun), which ended up shielding us from the rain! The sun came out after the ceremony however, and at our reception there was a beautiful rainbow.”

Bridesmaids wore “fuchsia pink bridesmaid dresses from Harvey & Ella, Grey Ted Baker suits for the men with pink Ted Baker ties, [while the] groom wore a cream Ted Baker tie.”

“We hired all the gear. Leighton’s sisters did all the flowers, except the bouquets, which were done by local florists (Flowers on George). We also made our own invitations, programs etc…”

“Our wedding cake was very special. It was baked by Meg’s uncle, Nick, and decorated by Leighton’s mum, Glenda. Both Glenda and Nick were battling cancer at the time so the cake represented a great deal of family love.”

More From The Bride:

What was your biggest challenge?

“Deciding whether to go with the wet weather plan or not. (In the end we didn’t and went with Plan A). The Quartet also had to be moved under an awning [more than] 100m away so unfortunately the sounds were muffled.”

What was your favourite moment?

“Cutting the cake, and dancing together.”

What’s your advice?

“Let it be – that is, let the day be what it is and just enjoy!”

Big fat congratulations to Meg and Leighton and thank you for sharing your beautiful wedding pictures with One Stylish Bride.
