Byron Bay Wedding {Chantelle + Lachlan}

We always get a little excited when we have a gorgeous Australian wedding to share. Mihaja Photography captured this super gorgeous one.

Chantelle and Lachlen wed at the The Fig Tree Restaurant, Byron Bay, New South Wales.

The couple chose a soft romantic colour combination with a touch of vintage. “[We used] chic decor using soft colours of mixed pastels – Cream, blush pink, peach, lavender,” says Chantelle.

“What we believe made our wedding unique is [that] everything reflected the both of us and what our relationship is about – romantic, relaxed and fun. So many people have commented on how much love they felt throughout the day and how comfortable and relaxed they were,” says Chantelle.

“There were many aspects of the day which were DIY, however one of my absolute favourites were the homemade soy teacup candles we made to give to our guests as thank you gifts. For 12 months we searched and collected unique second-hand teacups to create a gift that would go home with everyone and become part of their lives.”

More from the bride:

What was your biggest challenge?

“The biggest challenge for me was to just let go and allow other people to help. I have a personality that wants to always be in control and the hardest thing on the day was to just let others unfold all the planning you have put into the day while you sit back, relax and get pampered.”

What was your favourite memory?

“My favourite moment was walking down the aisle. I don’t think anyone can tell you the amount of strong emotions that come over you the moment you are standing at the top of the aisle and you see your soon to be husbands face light up. I was a blubbering mess throughout the entire ceremony and [it was] seriously the best moment of the entire day.”

What’s your advice?

“My advice would be to let go and allow people to help. Having a wedding coordinator there on the day making sure every detail that was planned was fulfilled correctly really [helped]. Throughout the entire process of planning my wedding, I realised the passion I have for event planning and styling, which led me to start my own business with a close friend. If I didn’t have my business partner, Christie, there on the day to assist with co-ordinating the wedding, I really don’t know what I would of done.”

Congratulations Chantelle and Lachlan, your wedding pictures are breathtaking.
