Oh, the places we’ll go! This adorable couple met in December 2009, when Bethany moved to Taiwan as a teacher and was placed at an English school in the central city of Taichung.
She was later scheduled to observe an experienced teacher, who turned out to be Heston! Heston taught at her school two days a week, but they grew close over months of exploring Taiwan together.
The gorgeous couple chose a travel theme and wed at Marion County Central Library in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Throughout their wedding, Bethany and Heston, included lots of details from all over the world. Instead of the traditional unity candle, they used worldly spices. Their wedding favors were candies from South Africa. Their vows were written and read from a little black passport book. The wedding cake tiers were luggage.
Bethany flew in from Oregon and Heston from South Africa for their big day in Indianapolis! Bethany explained, “When the wedding planning process begins, there are so many decision to make and numerous details that can steer the feeling of your wedding in any direction. My husband and I had been through quite the journey due to immigration, long distance communication, and the decisions of where and when to begin our lives together. At the end of the day, I chose to focus on the importance of us being in the same place together and the feeling that comes naturally when we were together – joy.”
Many congratulations to the newlyweds and a special thanks to Angel Canary Photography for sharing these lovely wedding pictures with One Stylish Bride.
