Art Gallery Wedding {Tena + Simon}

This wedding brings together everything we love about modern weddings. A quirky venue, ultra sleek architecture, loads of handmade details, bright colours, beautiful art work, and in the case of this wedding…even a picture perfect bathroom. The pretty and unique wedding photos were beautifully captured by Photography by Verdi.

Tena and Simon were married at Tempe Center for the Arts in Tempe Arizona. The spectacular venue houses an art gallery, a theatre and a ballroom overlooking the beautiful Salt River. The chic couple made sure that their wedding showcased their own personal style which includes a fondness for the modern and a colour scheme that consists of peacock blue, chartreuse, and slate grey. Impressive style and an impressive couple, which made for an impressive wedding.

From the bride…

What made your wedding unique? The color combination, the venue and the overall “modern” look. I see a lot of vintage-inspired weddings lately which are absolutely gorgeous, but my husband and I chose a look that represented our personal style and complemented the venue.

Even our food was a little different, we had a mac and cheese bar and gourmet quesadilla station.

Did you DIY any details? Oh, yes! The tissue-paper pom poms, the votive candle escort cards, the centrepieces, the puzzle guestbook made by my Dad. And our custom invitations were designed and assembled by my MOH who has a stationary business – Swatchbook Weddings.

Your biggest challenge? Sorting though all of the great wedding inspiration that is in the blogosphere and determining what would be the best fit for our wedding.

Your favorite moment? Seeing everything we’d worked so hard on come together on the big day and the feeling of relief right after we said our vows. The hard part was over, time to celebrate and enjoy the start of our lives together.

Your advice? Be true to your own vision, pick colors and styles that you love. Don’t think your wedding has to be on-trend. Also, don’t let the stress of planning overwhelm the excitement and joy of the day. Ask for help when you need it and no matter what, have fun!

Congratulations Tena and Simon and thank you for sharing your lovely wedding photos.
