Ca’Sagredo Wedding {Moscha + Nikos} 07.05.2012

Elegant, sophisticated, intimate, romantic and utterly classy - that’s Moscha and Nikos wedding in a nutshell.

The breathtaking duo wed at San Giorgio dei Greci Church, followed by their reception at Ca’Sagredo in Venice, Italy. Ca’Sagredo is a 14th century Palace that has been declared a national monument and preserves the stunning untouched beauty of an ancient noble residence. The amazing venue sits majestically on the banks of the Grand Canal and consists of a private palazzo, a noble residence, a museum, and a luxury hotel.

The couple picked this wonderful location and venue for a secret elopement and managed to style and co-ordinate their wedding impeccably, but it’s little wonder given that the bride is a talented wedding planner for Stella and Moscha. They did an absolutely amazing job, don’t you think?

Royal Vancouver Yacht Club Wedding {Kelly + Derek} 04.05.2012

Here’s a stunning couple that’s got some seriously impeccable taste.

Kelly and Derek tied the knot at St. Clements Anglican Church, followed by their reception at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The couple chose “beachy chic” as their wedding theme and incorporated it tastefully throughout their wedding day. They included starfish, lanterns, surfboards, a blue and white colour scheme, and even a yacht club.

The couple kindly answered some questions about their chic wedding day….

What was your favourite wedding moment?

Kelly: “The entire day was so amazing I don’t know if I have one specific favourite moment. Saying our vows was probably the most emotional part of my day, and getting a dead mouse and trap stuck to me dress was probably the funniest.”

Derek: “The moment I saw my bride for the first time when she walked up to the front steps of the church.”

What did you like most about planning your wedding?

Kelly: “I loved all our beach themed details, the starfish, lanterns, surfboard – all the little elements that reflected both Derek’s and my personalities and passions. But 14 months to plan was far too long and you end up wanting the whole thing to be over. If I could do it again, I’d do six months max.”

Derek: “Having all our plans and decisions that we had made while planning the wedding day come together leading up to and during the wedding day.”

If you could give future brides and grooms one piece of advice, what would it be?

Kelly: “Include your groom and create a day that reflects the two of you as a couple. Don’t worry about what other people did at their weddings or what family wants – make it about you and your fiancé. Include the elements that you want and don’t stress out about family or other people’s expectations.”

Derek: “Make your bride/groom’s and your desires the most important factor when making decisions about the wedding.”

Congratulations Kelly and Derek, we adore all your beautiful wedding pictures. Best wishes for the future!

Kirkland House Wedding {Steph + Mike} 02.05.2012

It doesn’t get much better than combining shades of pastels, handmade details, and a table loaded with cookies.

Steph and Mike got hitched at Kirkland House, Ladner, British Columbia, Canada. Steph recalls, “People really loved being able to use so much of the Kirkland House grounds for lounging and games. Since there were over 220 folks attending, I wanted everyone to be able to find interesting areas to socialize – pond lounge, stump lounge, bar hightop table lounge, dining room table, yellow mini table, picnic tables, photobooth, gazebo bar etc. Although this wedding was a lot of work, it was worth every second. We’re still hearing how much people enjoyed all the details of our wedding. The neat part as well was that, although we weren’t able to spend much time with everyone individually, through the details, everyone left knowing us a little bit better. The personal touches really do leave a lasting impression.”

Steph explained just how many hours it took to create that lasting impression, “6 days to put together all the pieces on site, 1 year to collect and make odds and ends, 12 truckloads to drop everything off, and 2.5 hours to take everything down.”

Steph wore a stunning Melissa Sweet “Mila” wedding dress, which was graciously gifted to her by her dear friend Carly Nelson. It was then altered by Jill MacKinnon located in Ladner, British Columbia, Canada.

All the incredible details were captured by Meghan + Tanya from Sweet Heirloom Photography, who had this to say, “The majority of this wedding was DIY. The list truly does go on and on. Steph did an outstanding job. From the bridal hairpieces and ceremony French door entrance to the ceremony altar and head table frame backdrop. There was no detail left untouched. Each centrepiece was different and beautifully unique.

We think that Steph and Mike’s wedding was truly the most detailed oriented wedding we have ever been to. They poured so much love and effort into every single area of their big day. It made shooting their wedding so much fun. We just ran around like kids in a candy store trying to capture everything.”
