Wedding Inspiration

Rachael and Amon’s Fitzroy Wedding 31.03.2014

Tears of happiness, that’s how much we love this Melbourne wedding.

The stunning couple wed at the Good Shepherd Chapel where Rachael’s sister-in-law, Katie, sang ‘Fools Rush In’ as the bride walked down the aisle in a gown made by Melbourne couture designer Helen Manuel. Amon waited for her at the end of the aisle in a custom Cerulean Blue Ralph Lauren suit and black bow tie. The colourful bridesmaids picked their own dresses, while the groomsmen wore a floral print Paul Smith shirt and bow-tie and suits from their own closets. After the nuptials, the couple were whisked away in a friend’s 1975 black mustang convertible for photos.

Oli Sansom Weddings captured the charming wedding and commented, “The inspiration behind Rachael and Amon’s wedding came from their combined personality traits. The whole day mirrored the type of people that they are. Rachael being a whimsical creative type and Amon being a sophisticated traditionalist type, they wanted a wedding that felt both formal and informal at the same time.”

The lovely bride used her background in graphic design to design the silk-screened poster-style invitations, the reception decor and the overall styling for the day. She used a loosely applied floral aesthetic to achieve a little bit of cohesion in the bridal party, and let the colour do the rest of the talking.

The charming reception was held at the Fitzroy Town Hall, which encompassed both a formal and informal vibe. The bridal party decorated the steps of the Town Hall in colourful streamers as guests arrived and greeted guests with the couple’s favourite cocktails – the French 75 and the Cadillac Margarita.

The inside of the hall was adorned with unstructured bouquets of wildflowers in jars designed by florist Emily Bourne, while colourful fruit and vegetables were laid out on the tables to mimic a Dutch still-life painting. Table numbers and candles were a quick DIY project that involved painting white numbers on jars and taping parchment paper around.

As for the food, the couple chose a delicious tapas menu created by Sorella Foods. The menu including some of the couples favourite dishes like meatballs, mac & cheese, and meredith dairy goats cheese. To save a bit on catering costs, the couple also asked family and friends to make an array of delicious deserts and cakes.

Lynndi’s Vintage Bridal Shoot 24.03.2014

This bridal shoot is a head turner.

The lovely Texas bride drew inspiration for her bridal shoot from an array of her loves. She loves classic and vintage style, as well as artist Frida Kahlo.

Anne Marie Photography captured the shoot and explained, “For [Lynndi’s] bridal shoot she couldn’t decide which look to go with, so she did a little bit of both.”

We’re pretty damn in love with the brides Juliet Cap Veil and her handmade floral headpiece. Lynndi tells, “My dress was by Pronovias and veil was a Juliet Cap Veil from Bridal Galleria. Inspiration for my veil was my great grandmother Eloisa’s bridal portrait in the 1920′s. The floral headpiece was a DIY project by my mom and I; we purchased flowers and greenery at HEB. Inspiration for the flower crown was Frida Kahlo.”

Jenine and Tom’s Elegant Wedding Photos 17.03.2014

Introducing newlyweds Jenine and Tom.

These lovebirds live in New York City, but chose to wed in a country setting, as their both country-bumpkins at heart. “For our wedding, we chose the beautiful setting of North Fork Long Island,” says the couple.

They also chose an elegant Blush, Ivory and Champagne colour scheme, which set a romantic ambiance at their lovely reception venue, Giorgio’s at Baiting Hollow.

Off Beet Productions captured this picture perfect wedding and tells us, “The bride and groom are both from large families; the groom is the oldest of 5 siblings and the bride has 3 brothers. As a result, the love in the room was palpable. The bride’s three brothers did not leave her side all night. The bride danced with each of her three brothers to Kenny Rogers ‘Through The Years’ and the Groom joined in at the end.”

We love that the bride and groom ended their night with a magical sparkler send off beneath a bridge formed by all of their lovely siblings. Plus, we adore the couple’s take on their wedding, “The wedding day was magical, and all of our guests tell us that they felt the love in the air, our love for each other, along with the love from our families.”
