Erin and Graham wed at the charming Chobotar Ranch in Osoyoos, BC. The charming décor and styling was organised by the amazing bride and was all about her and Grahams favourite things, which includes the outdoors and all its natural beauty. She used moss, old logs, stones, pinecones, feathers, wooden flowers, antlers, and even hand crafted the bouquets and boutonnieres. She then incorporated loads of vintage items from her home and her mothers’ home.

“The warm, warm summer sun shone down on Erin and Graham as they exchanged vows and everyone cheered them on as they walked down the aisle as husband and wife. Erin is creative, a planner, and a tad obsessive compulsive (in her own words). Her decorating was meticulous and she nailed every last detail.”

Emma and Aiden wed at Hinterland Baptist Church, followed by their reception at The Mudgeeraba Show Society Hall, Mudgeeraba, Gold Coast.

The bride wore a custom made wedding dress made by her best friend Erin. “I had an idea of my dream dress in my head and happened to find a picture in a bridal magazine. My best friend, Erin Davis, is a designer, so we tweaked it a bit and she made my dress for me. I have no idea how she did it from a picture, but she has been making dresses for me for years and it only seemed right that she make my wedding dress. I found the material in Cabramatta, Sydney and I knew it was perfect as soon as I saw it!” says Emma.

As if DIY flowers put together by the bride weren’t pretty enough on their own, they looked even more amazing when teamed up with a lovely pastel colour palette. “I didn’t want to stick to just a few colours but I didn’t want it to be colour overload either. So I solved the problem by having my bridesmaids in pastel colours and the reception fairly neutral with all different coloured flowers. I think everything ended up looking better than what I had thought!”

Emma explains what made the wedding unique for her, “I think the whole day was a perfect representation of Aiden and I. I wanted Aiden to share his ideas with me and have the day 50% me and 50% him. I think we did really well! It was such a group effort with all our family and friends ready to help. From my dress being made by my best friend, to Aiden’s sisters making the cake, girlfriends helping me make decorations and well… what did the boys do? Oh, organise the beer and the band!” {Emma giggles}

The reception was sprinkled with pretty handmade details. Emma remarks “I did get a lot of ideas from wedding blogs (such as yourselves!) and we ended up having a craftanoon as part of my Hens. We made the (very) messy string balls, little flags made from ribbon to hand out to guests at the ceremony, lolly bags stamped with A & E, and also the personalised tags that were hung around the vases on the tables at the reception… I made the stamps myself! I was so impressed how easy it was and how great they looked.”

What was your biggest challenge?

“The biggest challenge was keeping to our budget… it was very hard and we had to be crafty about what we spent our money on. At the end of the day we just had to decide what was a necessity and what wasn’t.”

What was your favourite moment?

“Wow… that is hard! The whole day was beyond incredible. But I would have to say, exiting the church! It was such a high, we couldn’t stop smiling and laughing. Absolute bliss.”

What’s your advice?

“My advice to other brides-to-be is stick to your ideas. Try not to get caught up in thinking you have to do the same thing as other couples have done before you. It’s your day, your way! I had many a strange look and questions when I shared my ideas, but I stuck to what I wanted and I could not have been happier.”

Nicole and Valentin were wed in Chicago at St. Hyacinth Basilica Church followed by a reception at Venuti’s Banquets. They chose a winter wonderland wedding theme with vintage touches. There to capture the details was Miller + Miller.

Miller + Miller explained, “Nicole executed her and Valentin’s winter wonderland theme wedding fabulously. [They] decided on wintery yet monotone white and metallic elements of snowflakes, icicles, white puffy snowballs, ice cubes, fur, feathers, crystals and metallic embellishments [that were included] in the reception, bridal party jewelry and ceremony’s decorations. The reception was luxurious, dreamy and nostalgic with draped metallic white fabrics and a punch color with dark and light blue lighting.”

We’re seriously fond of the couple’s first glance in Union Station, the luxurious reception details, the fur wraps worn by the bridesmaids and flower girl, the breathtaking church, the blue reception lighting, and the first dance that was complete with real falling snowflakes.

The bride shared a few details, which you’ll find after the jump.

From the bride:

“I am a very detail oriented and sentimental person. So that being said, almost everything in the wedding was custom designed. The fur wraps on the bridesmaids and flower girl were sewn for them from etsy, with their names inside. The bridesmaid necklaces were designed by me. Each girl had a unique vintage snowflake pin embedded and I used quartz in the necklace. My shoes were purchased online, but the beading was taken out and replaced with fox fur trim. I also used vintage snowflake clip earrings as shoe clips.

I had always envisioned a Winter wedding since I was a little girl…something about the winter is just so romantic to me. That being said, my absolute dream was to have it snow during our first dance. Val and I worked with Jay (our dj & event/lighting) to make my dream a reality.

I absolutely wanted to put together a wedding that I’d never seen and so I went to pull in my inspirations. I got to thinking and imagined what about winter I love and I wanted the atmosphere to have a ‘cool’ affect with blue lighting but everything else white. My overall inspiration for the day was a combination of vintage (feathers/crystals) and modern  lighting/design).”

The Story: Once upon a time, Isabela and Matt met at a local Latin Restaurant, several years later they got married in a ‘magic garden’ wedding. People came from afar {Brazil to be exact}, to see the ‘magic garden’ wedding. It was spectacular and Isabela looked like an angel in a beautiful wedding dress from Wedding Angels.

The Details: Matt and Isabela decided on a garden themed wedding with vintage touches. They found the perfect venue at Four Oaks Manor in Buford {Georgia, United States}, with the most glorious garden for the wedding. They incorporated the vintage touches with vintage glass jars and vases picked from antique stores. The pretty floral arrangements were purchased from the local farmers market and put together by Isabela and her helpful friends.

Rebecca and Benoit were married in an intimate vintage wedding at the Elora Centre for the Arts, in Ontario. The venue is best described as a retro-fitted gallery in an old school house!

Aimee and Mike’s Chicago wedding took place at the gorgeous historic Patrick C. Haley Mansion in Joliet Illinois, which was built in 1889 and is nothing short of stately and impressive.

Their stunning wedding was all about class and and modern vintage styling. To fit the theme, the bridal party wore stylish black attire, with the bridesmaid’s wearing short black gloves and carrying white satin clutches instead of flowers. Aimee wore a lace empire style 2010 Pronovias Collection wedding gown, which she paired with a Spanish fan and family heirloom handkerchief. She also wore a spectacular cathedral length veil.

Aimee and Mike made the smart decision to hire Holly Coan from A Passion For Weddings to help organise all the stylish details. The details included handcrafted hurricane candle lit table centerpieces, subtle touches of soft pink at each table, and the “Bella Rosa” gold sugar lined pink martini wedding cocktail drinks. Just to name a few.

The bride and groom, Alex and Xan, are two talented artists who fell in love while studying and now own a dance company together.

Their wedding was all about vintage nostalgia, dance, and timeless class. Xan wore her mother’s wedding dress and Alex wore an old-school tailcoat. The couple incorporated dance into their ceremony by having their company dancers provide the aisle side dance entertainment.

Their wedding was held at the Youngstown Country Club and included a super memorable ‘first dance’, which was collaboratively choreographed by Xan and Alex and titled ‘Man Plus Woman’. The piece was playfully filled with numerous references to past family romances and even including a reference to Xan’s grandparents first meeting in a revolving door. Melts your heart, doesn’t it.
