Alexandra and Brian actually live in Venice, California but decided to plan a destination wedding in Austin, Texas. The stunning couple also chose to have a French Provence Countryside feel to their wedding, which we’re completely lusting over.

Here’s what we’re loving about their French Provence Countryside theme – the wildflowers, the barrels, the burlap grain sacks, the wood lanterns, the fresh lavender shades, the tablescapes, the fruit centerpieces, and the paper cones filled with flower seeds.

We also can’t help but love the adorable honorary flower girl and the story behind her significance. The couple originally met at a party in California, where Alexandra learned that Brian had a dog-named ‘Shea’. Alexandra wanted an excuse to see Brian again, so she offered to babysit ‘Shea’ on his next business trip. Brian accepted and the rest was history. So ‘Shea’ came to hold a very special place in their hearts, so much so, that ‘Shea’ was made honorary flower girl.

Ashley and Quinn wed on the picturesque rolling hills of Front Porch Farms located just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, United States.

Their exquisite wedding had a lovely southern vibe {with tasty home-cooked southern food} and was captured by Wedlock Images, who had this to say…

“Get inspired by Ashley’s ‘do-it-yourself’ attitude. From the centerpieces to the bouquet, this crafty bride is the perfect example of how to throw a fabulous themed and detailed wedding on a small budget. You’d be amazed at how much Ashley saved by not only making her centerpieces and bouquet, but also designing and making her bridesmaid’s dresses and having homemade cakes and sweet treats instead of the traditional wedding cake.”

We especially love that Ashley discovered her gem of a wedding dress at a charity trunk show with proceeds going towards breast cancer.

We also love that the charming wedding favors were jars of homemade jam especially made by Ashley’s sweet grandmother.

Ashley + Quinn’s Style Guide

Cynthia and Matthew held their wedding in Russellville on a residence that has been in Cynthia’s family for 7 generations. The couple exchanged vows on a bridge within the residence, which was made by the Roanoke Bridge Co. over 100 years ago.

This charming wedding was full of southern rustic flare and sunflowers. Cynthia explains, “I’ve always known that sunflowers would be a main part of my wedding ever since I was little. My mother has always grown them in our backyard.”

Handmade and original details surrounded the wedding. Cynthia explains, “My mother, cousins and I made the wish tree. The sunflowers were planted and grown by my parents. My mother cut all of the burlap table runners. My aunt and a close family friend made all the bouquets. The photo booth was set up by two of my best friends.

I looked at many magazines and DIY websites to compile ideas that I loved and put in some of my own to make it unique for Matt and I. Our focus was to make it memorable and fun. I found most of our stuff like paper and fabric, bottles, and the bunnies from Hobby Lobby. In the end I think what made it special to us was all the hard work we had put in together and all the hard work we had seen our friends and family put into it. It meant so much more to us because of that.”

Cynthia remarks, “The wish tree idea was not original. However, I think we made it unique in the end. My grandaddy cut branches from a pear tree and cemented them into a pot for us and we tied the fabric on. The moustache idea I had wanted to do since I was about 15 years old and I have seen it since then but we still wanted to do it. Matt and I used a laser cutter at MSU to cut them and Kayla and I glued each one on a stick. The seed packet idea was one that Mom, Matt, and I came up with together. I really loved the way it turned out. The sunflower seed packets tied it all together.”

“Ashley and Dylan’s wedding was the hottest day of the summer. Almost 40 degrees celcius! Their wedding was held at one of the most gorgeous wineries in the Okanagan Valley. Their vineyards overlook Okanagan Lake…it was breathtaking! Their ceremony took place overlooking both the vineyard and the lake and with her colours it was stunning! Their ceremony was emotional and so personal. Ashley and Dylan laughed and teared up numerous times!

After their ceremony, while we took photos, Ashley and Dylan left their guests to refresh themselves under a wine tasting tent, and to play games of bocce ball and crouquet on the lawn. With a venue as stunning as the winery we took all their photos on the grounds. Their wedding party was a blast to work with! We spent most of the photos laughing and talking. Ashley and Dylan withstood the heat to get some gorgeous photos.”

Heather and Nicholas wed in El Cajon, California in a charming rustic backyard wedding with a unique blue and green colour scheme and loads of handmade decorations.

“This wedding was a work in the making for months and months, and all of the small details, to the fact that the entire reception area [had] to be flattened (Nick is good at that sort of thing), you could tell this union was important to them. It was a great union of not only two people, but [also] two families.”

“Michelle put a lot of work into it herself. She’s a true southern bell if you will, and a creative one. She made a lot of things herself, and re-used some important pieces that have been handed down in the family. Michelle chose to incorporate all the things her and Dan love most… including Florida State University – the college where they met. This wedding was a beautiful mixture of fun love, feminine class and sweet southern charm!”

Michelle recalls what items she re-used. “I wore my mum’s garter, wrapped my mum’s veil around my bouquet, used my great-grandmothers rosary (something blue) and also wrapped it around my Bouquet, our champagne glasses were used in every wedding on my mothers side dating back to her grandmother, and we used the cake cutters from Dan’s parents wedding.”

This wedding was all about the things that Rebecca and Michael love. Rebecca explained, “Mike and I love antiques, vintage things, and being in the country. We love historic houses that have tons of charm and I love horses. Mike is quite the jack-of-all-trades; a master electrician and we both love DIY! We wanted a wedding that would reflect our personalities and for everything to have meaning to us. I searched inspiration boards but I only found a few things I loved. It became clear that we would need to do what we do best…DIY our wedding.”

“When the choice of venues came up, it was clear that The Ashley Inn Bed and Breakfast and Meadow Lake Equestrian Center, a historic Georgian home and working horse farm, would be the only place we could possibly begin our lives together.”

“Mike and I wanted mix and match china and silverware for our tables. We began searching across the state of Kentucky to find the exact pieces we needed. I believe we hit every antique store, peddler’s mall, and thrift store within a 200-mile radius of Richmond!”

“We created wooden arrow signs by using old barn wood and hand painting the words. Another DIY project of ours was a blend of burlap and paper, to create a program fan that the soon to be joined families painstakingly fashioned, completing those only days before the ceremony. My mothers’ old handmade vine basket held the fans. For the ceremony site, Mike made an arbor from trees grown on his family’s farm, to enhance the serenity of the lakeside ceremony. After the ceremony, our handmade signs, adorned the lawn to invite guests to play corn hole on the boards our friends made and we adorned or have their picture taken at the outdoor photo booth. Building on our old-fashioned side, we dug in our garage and pulled out our large collection of antique glass insulators, hung them from trees around the sparkling fountain and lit by candles, and placed them over Christmas string lights to add a quixotic glow to the reception.”

Abby and Kyle held their nuptials at the Idyllwilde Club House in Colorado amongst a sea of orange, brown and white. The couple are high school sweethearts who created their perfect wedding day with the help of family and friends.

Erin and Graham wed at the charming Chobotar Ranch in Osoyoos, BC. The charming décor and styling was organised by the amazing bride and was all about her and Grahams favourite things, which includes the outdoors and all its natural beauty. She used moss, old logs, stones, pinecones, feathers, wooden flowers, antlers, and even hand crafted the bouquets and boutonnieres. She then incorporated loads of vintage items from her home and her mothers’ home.

Erika from Element Photography captured the breathtaking wedding pictures and had this to say…

“The warm, warm summer sun shone down on Erin and Graham as they exchanged vows and everyone cheered them on as they walked down the aisle as husband and wife. Erin is creative, a planner, and a tad obsessive compulsive (in her own words). Her decorating was meticulous and she nailed every last detail.”
