All American Backyard Wedding 07.10.2013

This backyard wedding inspiration is hardcore patriotic.

Dani Fine. Photography was responsible for photographing and art directing this shoot and explained, “The inspiration for this styled shoot was pure and simple and American as apple pie. The goal was to create a classic backyard wedding with a traditional patriotic palette of red, white and blue. We spiced up this basic theme with vintage nuances and modern sensibilities.

With charming DIY details like pinwheel place cards, pouches of homemade confetti and old time glass bottle sodas, the styling would serve equally well for Memorial Day, Fourth of July or any summertime cookout. [Ultimately] we wanted the shoot to feel fresh with lots of details and potent colour.”

Our favourite things about this shoot, without a doubt, are the medley of artisan cakes and the majorly romantic underwater photos. Check below for the full list of amazing vendors!

Moss Beach Wedding {Julia + Eric} 29.07.2013

This wedding is pretty dandy. It’s simple, yet chic.

The stunning couple wed at Moss Beach, California, United States. They chose the gorgeous Moss Beach meadow area for their ceremony as Julia grew up just a few minutes away from the location. Also, many members of the wedding party have played football and soccer on the meadow, making it a special place for all. The ceremony was followed by a chic reception at Cypress Meadows.

Thor Swift Photography captured the utterly breathtaking day and had this to say, “Julia’s father is a home brewer, and created a special and amazing Pilsner beer for the event. Julia is a chemist so her father made the label with the chemical symbol for alcohol and Eric is an environmental engineer, so a leaf on the customized label represented him. The entire batch was gone within a few hours.”

We completely adore all the decorations, many of which were handcrafted by Julia and Eric’s relatives. We’re also swooning over the wedding cake and the brides wedding bouquet.

East Grand Rapids Wedding {Holly + Shane} 01.07.2013

This love story and wedding is totally and utterly rad.

This adorable couple were destined to be together. They met 12 years ago when they were both 16 years old and traveling through Europe. As you can image, at 16 neither one of them was ready to settle done. Fast forward a decade, add in some higher education, a couple trips around the world and some major growing up, and they found themselves ready and wanting to marry one another.

They chose to tie the knot in a backyard wedding and luckily didn’t have to go far to find the perfect backyard, as Holly’s dad has the quintessential backyard in East Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States.

Emily of Emily Alt Photography captured their spectacular wedding and commented; “The night could not have been more perfect. The weather was ideal, the bridesmaid’s looks like they had walked off the pages of Vogue, and the bride stunned her guests as her mother and father escorted her down the grassy aisle.

What made this wedding so much fun were all the awesome homemade touches (Holly’s mom, Gretchen, created her headpiece), but also the undeniable love and passion the bride and groom hold for one another. There was not a dry eye in the backyard as Holly and Shane recited their self-written vows, and became husband and wife.”
