Alphington Bowls Club Wedding {Anastacia + Peter} 03.06.2013

This seriously delightful wedding astonishes us. We’re astonished by the pretty outdoor ceremony, the chic lawn bowl reception and the amazing photography.

Lilli of I Got You Babe Photography captured the enchanting wedding pictures and recalls, “Peter first laid eyes on Anastacia four years ago when he was visiting a friend in their share house. Anastacia happened to be one of the housemates. The same night they went out on a group date and haven’t really left each others side since then.”

The couple chose to have a simple, stripped back and far from traditional wedding. For the wedding ceremony the couple met at the top of a hill in Alphington Victoria and walked down together to an area under trees where they tied the knot in front of family and friends.

For the reception, they were greeted with trumpets playing the ‘Cricket’ theme as they entered the Alphington Bowls Club. They drank champagne with their guests and had a ball playing lawn bowls.

Joshua Tree Wedding {Shanti + Mark} 30.05.2013

This couple are the ultimate advocates for the saying “less is more” and we love it! Their California wedding was beautifully minimalist, eco-friendly, and rustic.

Kristine Ambrose of Ambrose Wedding Photography documented this charming wedding held at Joshua Tree National Park, California, United States.

The rock climbing couple chose to have a 90% zero waste wedding and reused or recycled most items. Most of this wedding was DIY’ed by friends and family including: bouquet, boutonniere, headpieces, food, and ceremony. They used online invites, no balloons, small dried flowers, carpooling, recycled ware, no presents, online photos and low impact photo printing. Wonderful idea!

Eco-Friendly Wedding {Christi + Noah} 04.02.2013

We love hearing about couples that embrace unconventional wedding ideas. Take lovely Christi and Noah who wed at Lyon’s Farmette in Lyons, Colorado, United States. They chose to have no wedding theme, no structure, and no agenda.

Christi explains, “It was important to us that the wedding stayed small and simple. There was no theme, no real agenda, no professional decorations and no real structure. Having been to dozens of weddings over the years that follow the same cliché format (ceremony, sit down dinner, speeches, father/daughter dance, first dance, money dance, cheesy DJ music, etc.) we made a point of going the opposite direction. It was low budget and low on frills on purpose. We knew we wanted to be outside to take advantage of the beautiful Colorado summers. But we also knew that we wanted something intimate versus sprawling. The Lyons Farmette was the perfect size and had the perfect mix of grass area, farm area, and creek area.”

We love that the couple also kept their wedding green by only using local wedding vendors. Plus, this wedding now proves that a low fuss and low budget wedding can also be truly beautiful!

“The wedding was a true group effort. Our aunts, uncles, brothers, best friends, mums and dads did everything from setup the tables to arrange the flowers to pickup up the hay bails and buy the table cloths. It’s hard to pin down one ‘favourite’ moment, but sharing a hug and the magnitude of the moment with our parents directly after the ceremony was incredibly emotional, gratifying,” says Christi.
