Wedding Accessories By Jannie Baltzer 22.11.2011

What lovely creations from Jannie Baltzer!

This Danish fashion designer is a self-confessed sucker for weddings. Having graduated from the Scandinavian Academy of International Fashion and Design in Copenhagen, Jannie then received an honorary prize from Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte for the most creative fashion collection in the country.

Her wedding inspiration comes from eras past: in particular the early 1900s’ French Bohemianism, and the Art Deco movement and the 1920s celebrity glamour of Hollywood. Handcrafted from her studio in Copenhagen, Jannie’s headpieces are made from such luxurious materials as French and Edwardian lace, silk, and soft chiffon.

Soft Shades by Opi 04.11.2011

If you want to look ultra feminine on your wedding day, why not complete your look with a pretty pastel shade from Opi?

If you prefer to wear a fun and bold colour such as red or purple, there is, of course, nothing wrong with this, as it is your personal choice. But most brides today want the timeless and elegant feel of soft pinks, nudes, off-whites, and other neutrals. These colours are also low-maintenance since the chips and peeling don’t show as much, and if you choose to apply them yourself at home, the tiny mistakes you make won’t be too visible either.

Fortunately, Opi has given wedding inspiration to brides who want just a peek of soft, romantic colour on their nails. During June and July, Opi releases more neutral and pastel colours from the Soft Shades Collection to add to their Fairy Tale Bridal Collection. Check out the Soft Shades colour selection from Opi…

Just a few of our favorites…

1. At First Sight – A light peachy brown

2. Second Honeymoon – a sweet baby pink

3. Kyoto Pearl – a subtle grey with just a hint of lavender

4. Kiss on the Chic – a soft yet vibrant salmon

Remember to schedule your mani and pedi a day before the big day, so they still look nice and fresh when you’re all done up. And don’t forget to stash a bottle of an Opi Soft Shade polish in your beauty kit—you never know when an emergency will strike at the reception or during the honeymoon!

Opi Soft Shade colours are available at beauty retailers everywhere. If you’re having trouble looking for a particular colour at your local department store or drugstore, check out online beauty stores or eBay. And for more wedding inspiration on romantic and sophisticated colour palettes, visit the Opi website.

Famous And Fabulous Wedding Hair 01.11.2011

Where do we look for wedding hair inspiration, we prefer star inspiration! So we’ve picked out four fabulous hairstyles from famous Hollywood celebrities as unique wedding hair ideas. Get ready to be inspired!

Hair-Wedding-Ideas

Kate Beckinsale – If you’re a destination bride who’s going to tie the knot at the beach or if you’re looking for that casual yet uber-stylish look, then big, summery waves may just be the thing. Make sure you get the right color (base, highlights, and lowlights) to give depth and dimension to the style.

Hair-Wedding-Ideas

Kim Kardashian – Be the epitome of elegance with a braided bun updo. This is great for a formal wedding, and can be a fantastic accessory in itself to accompany a simple wedding dress. Top it off with a pair of dramatic drop earrings, and you’re ready to walk down the aisle and party the night away in high fashion. The bonus is that both the hairstyle and the earrings frame your face beautifully and make your neck seem longer.

Hair-Wedding-Ideas

Jennifer Lopez – This is somewhere in between the two hairstyles above—not too laid-back and not too formal—and a very versatile look. The large, voluminous curls help retain that casual feel, while the combed-back side part and glittery hair clip add a polished touch. For an informal wedding, you could replace the clip with an adorable headband or a flower tucked behind the ear.

Hair-Wedding-Ideas

Gwen Stefani – Forget Gwen’s trademark bright red lipstick and pin-straight blond hair. Rock the sweet, vintage look with curls from the ears down (not from the roots!) and soft pink lips. This is perfect for medium-length hair. The curls have to be just right—not too small or you’ll end up with a strange-looking afro, and not too big that the retro look is lost on you. Simple stud earrings should complement—not compete with—the hairstyle.
