{Guest Post} Flawless makeup….

Monday, July 26th, 2010

Wedding pictures hold some of the happiest memories, so be sure you consider all the angles when preparing to be photographed on your big day. In the weeks and months leading up to the wedding it is essential to do the following…

Plan ahead: It’s easy to get caught up in the craziness of tastings, fittings and appointments and forget to schedule facial treatments until the last minute. Don’t be tempted to get microdermabrasion or chemical peels within a month of the event. Even a simple facial shouldn’t be considered in the last few days leading up to your wedding. Call your technician well ahead of time to avoid disaster.

Practice good skin health: Stay hydrated and eat healthfully leading up to the event. Don’t try new skincare products, or anything that may irritate your skin. Anticipate your skin’s history, and treat it according to the climate or weather that’s expected at the venue.

If your doing your own makeup on your big day

Shut the front door, I have found the most fabulous milliner in Sydney…Ms Ilana Meilak {okay I didn’t find her, but my sister did}. Ilana creates gorgeous vintage inspired pieces capturing her love of the art deco era.

She stocks racewear pieces, fashion pieces and truly unique bridal pieces. For those of you living in Sydney, count yourself lucky, as The House of Hats has recently opened shop in trendy Paddington and I hear it’s well worth a visit or two!

Oh how I love these! I mean what’s not to love? The above birdcage style wedding veils and the unique bridal headband are from fashion forward Hair Bows Wonderworld. These over the top fashion statements would definitely add a splash of high fashion to any wedding!

I’m in love with the above featured alternative headpieces designed by the talented Lia Terni. Personally I love the wedding trend of wearing unique bridal hair attire instead of a traditional veil, because you can add a different feel to your wedding. For instance, a unique bridal headband can add a contemporary feel, an ultra feminine feel, a vintage feel, or a whimsical feel.

My favorite Lai Terni headpiece has gotta be the first pictured rhinestone bridal hair accessory. It’s to die for!
