Geelong Bridal Shoot

Stephanie of Stephanie Newbold Photographer isn’t one to shy away from a styled bridal shoot. She loves them and recently styled and photographed this massively sweet Rustic bridal shoot in Australia.

Stephanie explained how she brought her bridal shoot concept to reality, “I had planned for months for this shoot sourcing and making props, finding that perfect location and of course finding some gorgeous models. It’s always a fun and special journey when creating a scene that you have visioned in your mind.

I sourced my props from the Mill markets and my grandparent’s garage; I could spend hours in there finding the perfect little gadgets to bring a little quaintness to this shoot.

I [also] knew I wanted to work with some talented people in the wedding industry so I got in contact with some very lovely ladies who do fantastic work for brides all over the Geelong region.”

Montelucia Resort & Spa Wedding {Jenna + Zach}

This wedding instantly charms.

Romantic couple Jenna and Zach tied the knot at the same location where they first met, at Montelucia Resort & Spa in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona underneath Camelback Mountain.

The beautiful couple celebrated in style. They chose “Cinco de Mayo” as their wedding date, meaning “5th of May” in Spanish. The date marks a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride across the entire United States and regionally in Mexico. Jenna explained, “[this] allowed us to use bright colours and fun festive decor to celebrate – we had beautiful invitations made by Momental Design which included a 3D flower on the front of the invite. We [also] used Mexican style food and drinks to make the day unique.”

The gorgeous colour scheme was also inspired by Jenna’s love for bright colours on a neutral canvas. Jenna says, “I love bright colours on a neutral canvas so we chose navy and ivory with splash of colour including orange, pink, red, green and yellow.”

Tell us about your wedding dress?

“[It’s] Melissa Sweet, it was purchased from a store in Scottsdale, Arizona called Prisicilla of Boston in August of 2011 (one week prior to them discontinuing orders and closing the nationwide store after 65 years of business).”

Did you DIY any details?

“I made signs that showed the place that we first met, a sign to notify [guests] of the location of the wedding, I made tissue paper flowers that attached to bride and groom places at our seats and our initials over our chairs.”

What was your biggest challenge?

“I really didn’t have many challenging tasks while planning. Zach was very involved and our vendors were fantastic. Our venue location knows how to throw a great wedding!”

What was your favourite moment?

“My favourite moment was my ‘first look’ with Zach. I was so nervous up to that point. Seeing his face and being by his side prior to the wedding put me at ease so that I could appreciate our most important moment.”

Do you have any advice you would like to share?

“I would always recommend a ‘first look’ photographer session prior to the wedding ceremony. As a bride, you are never prepared for that type of attention and anticipation. It is great to have some time alone to really focus yourself on what you are about to do. I also really recommend having a theme that compliments your style. It is exciting for your guests and your vendors as well.”

We’re sending super happy wedding wishes to Jenna and Zach and big thanks for sharing your wedding pictures with One Stylish Bride.

Styled Workshop {Nikki + Reid}

Here’s a group of wedding vendors that were born with aptitudes for capturing pretty things and wedding trends.

This group of vendors put together this simple, yet majorly chic styled wedding shoot during a workshop in Minnesota, United Stated. We love that these vendors used a real couple, the bride’s real dress, and cute accessories like a gold blusher veil.

Bernadette of Dette Snaps captured the shoot and explained, “I photographed Nikki and Reid as part of a styled shoot with Erin Johnson’s {enjoy} workshop. These two acted as our ‘model’ couple, but they were actually married last year. Nikki was kind enough to wear her real wedding dress too. We added a funky pop of colour with the layered necklace, and my favourite – a spectacular gold blusher veil. The bouquet included lovely succulents. We had a blast running around the area and finding unique locations to shoot. It was a perfect day and a great workshop with some amazing vendors participating.”
