Peppers Creek Barrel Room {Karen + Michael}

Are you ready for some breathtaking wedding pictures? Good, we are too!

Beautiful Karen and Michael wed at Peppers Creek Chapel and Barrel Room, Pokolbin NSW.

The couple celebrated their wedding with an elegant colour scheme, that included “a touch of green, accent colours of black and cream and a backdrop of soft pink hues.”

Karen wore a dreamy Karen Willis Holmes wedding dress, purchased in Paddington NSW. Karen recalls, “My biggest challenge was finding a dress. I knew my gorgeous groom would look fantastic in his suit, but I struggled to find a dress that looked like a wedding dress and that didn’t swamp my small frame. Thankfully, I discovered my dream dress at Karen Willis Holmes.”

“Our flower of choice for the day was roses, in keeping with my husband’s surname and my new one, ‘Rose’,” says Karen.

What made your wedding unique?

“In keeping with our ‘touch of green’ theme, we used green toffee apples as bonbonniere and tied these with black ribbon. My groom added whimsy to his tuxedo with a pair of green stripy socks whilst I added some sparkle to my gown with a pair of Jimmy Choos.

At the reception I wore what became known as my ‘party belt’, a one of a kind piece from Karen Willis Holmes, to signal the beginning of the festivities.”

What was your favourite moment?

“When our reverend pronounced us man and wife. I was so excited that I went in for a second kiss!”

What’s your advice?

“Stay true to yourselves whilst you plan your wedding, you won’t regret doing things your way.”

Feathered Nest Shoot {Melody + Eric}

Ya’ know what? Sometimes vendors just knock it outta the park when it comes to creating gorgeous wedding inspiration.

Vanessa Voth Photography captured this gorgeous feathered shoot in Canada and had this to say…

“I started dreaming of and planning this shoot months ago. It was always a dream of mine to plan, organize, and photograph a styled wedding shoot that fully encompassed everything that I love about weddings. Being a creative person myself, I wanted to bring a lot of DIY aspects into the shoot and unique details. My inspiration for the shoot was a twig plate charger that I found, and from there the theme of birds nest/twigs/feathers came into existence. I ended up with an amazing team of talented vendors and the day/shoot could not have turned out any better. Definitely a dream come true!”

“For the flowers, it was a combination of soft pinks and white. The bridesmaids were in a deep charcoal. All stationary was charcoal, and a deep crimson pink/red, and white,” says Steph.

“We DIY’d the place cards, and the trimmings on the jars/vases (not too much detail there). The decorating was very simple, so not much needed to be done. The bride’s mum made the sensational mini Florentines!”

The couple’s biggest challenge ended up being their first dance. Steph explained, “The dance, which we subsequently mucked up early on! I didn’t quite think through the fact that a full dress would make doing the rumba quite so tricky!”

What made your wedding unique?

“The fact that we had the wedding at such a special place. Lorne holds a very dear spot in our hearts, so it was very fitting to have such a special day there.”

What was your favorite moment?

“It’s impossible to pick one. There were so many special moments from the moment we woke up on the day. The ceremony was very special, as were the speeches by our family and friends. Actually getting married topped the charts!”

What’s your advice?

“Don’t make planning a wedding any more stressful that it needs to be (just think of it as a big party!). I highly recommend going by referrals that people you trust have given you.”

David Robertson Photography captured all the breathtaking wedding photos.

Big fat congratulations to Steph and Ben and thank you for sharing your wedding with us!
